Kalmar SmartPath

Improve efficiency at your terminal by smarter job assigments

Kalmar SmartPath, when combined with Navis Prime Route, improves efficiency at your terminal by using location-based job assignments. Equipment is automatically assigned to the closest job, which reduces driving distances and fuel consumption, and speeds up your operations. And because container-handling time is reduced, equipment is more quickly available to carry out the next job.

Optimised job assignment for each piece of equipment

SmartPath wirelessly transmits the equipment’s position to the terminal operating system (TOS), which can then optimise job assignment for each piece of equipment based on its location.

Dynamic geographical boundaries, geofences, around a target location and the equipment are used to trigger messages that allow the TOS to identify the appropriate job and optimise assignments depending on the required process flow.

Additionally, an automated job stepping feature is available that advances the next job, so the driver doesn’t have to find out for themselves.

Put simply, with more efficient workflows you can handle more containers per hour. And because SmartPath also improves handling accuracy and speed, you can maximise the availability and productivity of your equipment.
